There has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel across the country on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. The state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) have maintained stability in domestic fuel prices as global crude oil rates continue to fall in the international market.

According to the Indian Oil Corporation, the country’s largest fuel retailer, the cost of one litre of petrol in Delhi stands at Rs 103.97 and that of diesel at Rs 86.67 per litre.

Meanwhile, in India’s financial hub, Mumbai, petrol is available at Rs 109.98 per litre and people have to shell out Rs 94.14 for a litre of diesel. Notably, petrol and diesel prices are the highest in Mumbai among all the four metro cities.

Similarly, the prices of petrol and diesel remained unaltered in Tamil Nadu’s capital, Chennai, and stood at Rs 101.40 and Rs 91.43 per litre, respectively.

On the other hand, people have to shell out Rs 104.67 for one litre of petrol and Rs 89.79 for one litre of diesel in Kolkata.

Fuel rates likely to drop further

Crude oil prices have fallen sharply and are expected to fall further in the international market because of demand concerns rising due to the new variant of Corona, Omicron. Notably, international oil prices plunged by over $10 a barrel on Friday, the biggest decline since April 2020.

Moreover, the prices of petrol and diesel may come down further as the central government has agreed to release five million barrels of crude oil from its Strategic Petroleum Reserves.

Fuel rates in other Indian cities

Even though there has been a cut in excise duty on fuels, petrol and diesel are the most expensive in Rajasthan. In Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar, petrol is retailing at Rs 112 per litre. However, petrol is the cheapest in Port Blair and is available at Rs 82.96 per litre.

Meanwhile, diesel is being sold at Rs 77.13 per litre in Port Blair and in Sri Ganganagar, diesel costs Rs 95.26 per litre.
