Global icon Priyanka Chopra has been at the forefront in India’s battle against the raging COVID-19 pandemic, going out of her way to provide assistance and helping those in need during these trying times. The global icon not only initiated a fundraiser to help India amid the deadly second wave of coronavirus, she has also been sharing information on social media about the COVID-19 resources.

Back in May, Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas successfully managed to raise around $1 million to help people affected by COVID-19 in India. She later announced that she has raised her fundraising target to Rs 22 crore in order to help more people in India tackle the coronavirus surge. For the unversed, Priyanka and her pop star husband Nick Jonas started the fundraiser Together for India, for COVID-19 relief which has around Rs 7.5 crore. And now it turns out that a company that is backed by The White Tiger actress is giving employees paid vacation to recuperate from the COVID-19 burnout.

According to a report by Mint, dating app Bumble, which has Priyanka Chopra as one of its investors has temporarily closed its offices this week, giving around 700 of its employees a break to recover from COVID burnout.

As per the report, the announcement was made public by Bumble’s head of editorial content, Clare O’Çonnor via Twitter. Clare had written that in the US, where vacation days are extremely rare, the move felt like a huge deal to the employees of the company.

With the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping across the globe put a curb on in-person dating, apps like Bumble had to re-strategise to keep users isolated and quarantined at home.

However, Bumble is not the only company to take this revolutionary step. Caller ID startup Hiya declared the last Friday of every month a holiday, and technology giant Cisco introduced “unplug” days in 2020. PricewaterhouseCoopers in April too announced that it is paying its employees to take time off.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra, who was last seen in The White Tiger co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gourav in the lead roles is currently not only working on the web series Citadel with the Russo Brothers for Amazon Prime Video, but is also set to play a role in Matrix 4.
