Rajinikanth and his son-in-law, actor Dhanush, won big at the 67th National Film Awards ceremony on Monday, October 26. But it is Aishwaryaa R Dhanush, Rajinikanth’s daughter and Dhanush’s wife, who is the happiest. She took to Instagram to share a “proud daughter and wife” post expressing her happiness. Calling it history, Aishwaryaa shared two photos of the superstars in which they are seen flaunting their medals.

AISHWARYAA’S POST FOR RAJINIKANTH AND DHANUSH

On Monday, October 25, the National Film Awards were presented in a ceremony held in Delhi. Rajinikanth was bestowed with the 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award, while his son-in-law, Dhanush, won the National Film Award in the Best Actor category for his performance in Asuran. Post the presentation ceremony, Aishwaryaa took to her Instagram handle and posted pictures of both the men of her house holding their medals. The awards were presented by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu. This happens to be the first time that two awards have gone to the same family.

Aishwaryaa wrote along, “They are mine and this is history. #prouddaughter #proudwife.”

DHANUSH’S POST AFTER NATIONAL FILM AWARD FELICITATION CEREMONY

Post the felicitation ceremony, Dhanush took to social media to share a smiling photograph of himself and Rajinikanth. In the caption, he expressed gratitude for being able to receive the award on the same stage where Thaliavar was also receiving such a big honour.

He wrote, “To win a national award for best actor on the same stage where my Thalaivar was winning the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award was just indescribable. Thank you to the National award jury for bestowing me with this honour. Also Thank you to the press and media for your constant support (sic).”

Rajinikanth dedicated his Dadasaheb Phalke Award to his mentor guru K Balachander sir, along with his brother Sathyanarayana Rao Gaekwad, his bus driver friend who identified his acting talent when Rajini was a bus conductor, his fans and people from the industry.

Dhanush shared his award with actor Manoj Bajpayee who was also declared the Best Actor for his performance Bhonsle.
