All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief, Asaduddin Owaisi has said that, “The statement by the Defence Minister in the Rajya Sabha has told us nothing.”
Owaisi made this comment in response to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s statement about the accidental missile launch into Pakistan territory on March 5.
Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, Rajnath Singh said on Tuesday, March 15, “A missile was unfortunately accidentally launched on March 9. The incident occurred during a routine inspection. We later came to know that it had landed in Pakistan.”
Reacting to this, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, said, “This report has scary details of the missile incident which should have been explained. A cover up, as with own helicopter shooting after Balakot, won’t help.”
He further asked, “Is it true that there were more missiles on the launcher which had to be stopped from taking off after the first one did? Do we even imagine the consequences of such action between two nuclear-armed countries?”
Mentioning a report by Bloomberg in his tweet, Owaisi said “The report says that the missile would have gotten armed if it had reached its designated target. What was the designated target and does that mean that the missile was with a warhead?”
In the end, he stated that India has a global reputation as a responsible nuclear power and that can’t be allowed to be destroyed because of this incompetent government.
