The Realme GT 2 series was announced a few days back by the brand. It was speculated that Realme will launch the flagship smartphone series on December 20th, however that did not happen. The company merely highlighted a few industry-leading features the upcoming phones would feature.
Realme confirmed that the GT 2 series will have features like bio-polymer material, an ultrawide camera with a 150-degree field of view, and 360 degrees NFC technology. After a bunch of teasers on the social media platform and a few official feature announcements, the company has finally announced the launch date of the Realme GT 2 Series via an official invite.
The company has confirmed the official launch date, January 4. The event will be held at 7:30 PM local time which is 5 PM IST. The official press release also mentions that the devices will launch in China on the same day.
The Realme GT 2 series is likely to include two phones such as the GT 2 and GT 2 Pro. Realme GT 2 has a 6.62-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 888 mobile platform, a 16-megapixel selfie camera, a Sony IMX766 50-megapixel triple rear camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging.

Realme GT 2 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED QHD+ display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Further, it is equipped with a 32-megapixel front selfie camera, a 50-megapixel (Sony IMX766 with OIS) in the rear, a 50-megapixel ultrawide, and a telephoto triple camera system. It comes with up to 1 TB of onboard storage and a large 5000 mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging.
Realme unveiled three new technologies earlier this week, touting them as the “world’s first advancements” in the smartphone business. They are related to the Realme GT 2 Pro’s design, photography, and communication functions.
The rear panel will be made of a bio-polymer substance from SABIC, and the design language has been termed “Paper Tech Master Design.” Realme has also made the retail packaging more environmentally friendly by using less plastic to reduce pollution.
It will come with a new ultrawide sensor, with a field-of-view that is 273% higher than the 89° in the primary wide sensor. The increased field of view will be put into action through the new fisheye mode. Realme has claimed that the new mode would make photographs more appealing, thanks to its ‘ultra-long depth of field effect’.
