In Delhi while a person waits at an intersection for the red signal to turn green , there are high chances for a rose to be given by a person. Delhi government’s new campaign Gandhigiri  is a part of it. Since Delhi tops in the air pollution list , Kejriwal is carrying out a 15 – point action plan. ‘Red Light On, Gaadi Off’ campaign comes under it. It was launched on October 16, 2020 in Delhi. From October 28 to November 28 phase 1 of this drive will go on. If the wind direction changes then the pollution levels may increase in Delhi. This was told by Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai. In the morning after Diwali The Air Quality Index (AQI) had reached 323 in Delhi and 342 in Noida. The campaign’s meaning is to switch off their vehicles while waiting for the signal light’s to turn green . City Defence volunteers will help in this campaign. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai recently said, “We are strictly implementing all the directions of the Commission for Air Quality Management. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has reviewed the implementation of the 15-point action plan to curb air pollution in winter.”

In 2021, ahead of the campaign rollout, Kejriwal had tweeted: “Please contribute to this fight against pollution. Whenever you stop at a red light, please turn off your car’s engine. This will save fuel and also help reduce pollution. All Delhiites will work together to reduce pollution in Delhi.”
