The Cabinet reshuffle in Rajasthan, it seems, has failed to stop the political slugfest in the Congress. Ramkesh Meena, an independent MLA, who was appointed advisor to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday, has lashed out at Congress leader Sachin Pilot, accusing the former Deputy CM of misleading the party High Command.

Meena said that Independent MLAs and those who left BSP to support Congress did not get prominence in the Cabinet rejig because of Pilot.

“Sachin Pilot misled the High Command. That is the reason why Independents and MLAs who came from the BSP did not get prominence in the Cabinet. Pilot had misled the High Command to deprive us of tickets. Our colleagues won elections by fighting from BSP and as independents,” Ramkesh Meena, newly appointed advisor to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, said.

“If Gehlot had complete control in his hands, the Congress would have got 150 seats. We saved the Gehlot government. That is why Pilot put a rider on Independents becoming ministers. Pilot continuously hindered our work via the High Command in Delhi,” Meena stated.

Meena’s statements laid bare the discontentment that has continued to simmer in Rajasthan Congress even after the Cabinet rejig in the Ashok Gehlot-led government.

Earlier, Congress leader Sachin Pilot said all communities have been given representation in the new list of ministers. He also emphasised that there is no factionalism within the party.

Several leaders have been appointed as advisors to the Chief Minister to placate the possibility of dissent among the MLAs who supported the Gehlot dispensation when it was in turmoil last year. Among them are Babulal Nagar, Jitendra Singh, Ramkesh Meena, Sanyam Lodha, Danish Abrar, and Rajkumar Sharma.
