Schools in Ghaziabad, Meerut & few other districts of Uttar Pradesh will not be shut due to Air Pollution. As per recent updates, Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board has withdrawn the order of closure of educational institutions. Details.

  • Apart from the ones mentioned above, the order is applicable to educational institutions in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli and Bulandshahr.

Schools in Ghaziabad, Meerut and some other districts of Uttar Pradesh, UP will not be shut anymore due to the problem of Air Pollution in Delhi NCR. As per recent updates from Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, the order for closing of educational institutions has been withdrawn on November 17, 2021.  

As per the information from Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, the orders have been withdrawn from these areas – Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Meerut, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli and Bulandshahr. While the exact date is not known, it is however possible that offline classes in these areas might now continue.  

Schools in Ghaziabad, Meerut, Gautam Buddh Nagar district were asked to shut down until further orders as the Air Quality Index, AQI in Delhi NCR had deteriorated. It was further mentioned that online mode of education will be followed till next orders are received on reopening.  

Air pollution in these areas has become a serious problem for everyone. While the governments have been taking steps to curb the problem and provide some relief, positive outcomes are still awaited. Schools were first asked to shut down in Delhi.  

This announcement was followed by schools shutting in 4 districts of Haryana, including Gurugram and Faridabad. Initially this order was valid till November 17, 2021. However, seeing the worsening situation, schools were asked to close until further orders.

Schools, students and stakeholders in Ghaziabad, Meerut and other districts that are mentioned above, are advised to make a note of this and plan their course of action accordingly. Students and parents are further advised to wait for final orders from schools, before sending their wards back to campus. It is even in the best interest of everyone to take all precautions that are necessary in such a situation.
