Schools in Haryana are set to reopen for all classes from December 1, 2021. According to a recent announcement by state’s Education Minister Kanwar Pal, all schools in the state will be allowed to function with 100% capacity from the mentioned date.

Schools in Haryana, both private and government will now be reopening for all classes. The announcement has been made through the official Twitter handle of the Education Minister. It even emphasised on the importance of following COVID-19 safety protocols during this reopening.  

The official tweet read, “From December 1, all the government and private #schools of Haryana will open with full capacity. The compliance of the Covid protocol will continue as before. If any problem related to Covid arises again in future, then the government will take an immediate decision in this regard.” (Please note: The original tweet was in Hindi and has been shared below. Schools in Haryana must prepare detailed plans for reopening at such a large scale. Even though it is likely that the basic SOPs would be same as they were before for other classes, schools can make changes to them to suit their needs.  

Attendance might not be made mandatory even this time as there are many students who have not been vaccinated yet. Meanwhile, students and stakeholders are advised to wait for an official communication from their schools before going to campus.

Schools in Haryana were among the first few in the country that started reopening in a phased manner. Recently, due to the rising problem of air pollution in Delhi and NCR region, some schools in parts of Haryana were asked to shut for everyone’s safety.
