Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey, which was supposed to release in theatres on April 14, has now been postponed to April 22. If Jersey had been released as per plan, it would have clashed with Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast and Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Shahid Kapoor said that they had carefully thought about Jersey releasing alongside KGF 2 and Beast.

SHAHID HAD THIS TO SAY ABOUT JERSEY CLASHING WITH KGF 2 AND BEAST

Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey release has been postponed by a week. The film would have clashed at the box office with Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 and Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast. In an interview with IndiaToday.in, he spoke about the clash of three films.

Ahead of the release of Jersey, Shahid Kapoor said that theatres could accommodate all the three films during the festival weekend. Shahid said, “We obviously have thought it through. Everybody thinks its prudent. It’s a big holiday. A lot of big films can be released on a holiday and I think Beast is largely for a different market. And KGF 2 is an action film. We are very much a family film. So, the genres are very different. So, yeah, we think its okay.”

Echoing Shahid’s thoughts, Mrunal said, “I think it has been 2 years. Audiences didn’t get a chance to go out to the theatres and enjoy that atmosphere. So, we are really spoiling our audience for choices.”

Shahid then added, “Yeah and all big holidays have 2 big films. 2 ya 3 aati hain usually. So, it’s okay. Yeh hamesha se hota hain. Hamesha same sawaal hota hain. But, it’s always good to have more films during the holidays because people are stepping out more.”
