SIVAKARTHIKEYAN ADOPTS LION AND ELEPHANT

Sivakarthikeyan is waiting for the release of his upcoming film, Doctor, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The film’s release date is yet to be finalised by the makers.

The actor made headlines recently as he adopted a male lion named Vishnu and a female elephant named Prakrithi from Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Chennai. Under a special program called ‘Animal Adoption,’ public participation is encouraged, thereby building a close association with the animals.

The ‘Animal Adopter’ can donate money for the maintenance and feeding of any particular animal they are interested in. This also comes under 80G income tax exemption and a free zoo visit.

Arignar Anna Zoological Park, one of the largest in Asia, houses more than 2,453 animals. The park authorities state that the animals housed in the zoo are representatives of their relatives in the wild. With the adoption program, the voice for conserving the species is amplified.

Earlier, Sivakarthikeyan had adopted a tiger named Anu for two years.
