The long-anticipated Skoda Kushaq is going on sale in India today, and we’ll be bringing you all the live updates from the launch event here. The Kushaq is the first SUV to be built on the company’s new, India-specific MQB-A0 IN platform and the first model to be introduced under the India 2.0 project. Today, Skoda will announce the price and other specifics regarding the new Kushaq.

The Skoda Kushaq is offered with a choice of two petrol engines – a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI. While the former makes 113 bhp and 175 Nm of torque, the 1.5-litre engine offers 148 bhp on offer and 250 Nm of torque. Both get a 6-speed manual gearbox, whereas the automatic options include a 6-speed torque converter and a 7-speed DSG unit, respectively.

Visually, the Kushaq looks muscular and aggressive, featuring a bold grille, sharp LED headlamps, beefy cladding, skid plates and a set of sporty dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV gets the distinctive two-piece C-shaped LED taillamps and the Skoda lettering at the centre. The Kushaq also comes with a host of smart, and premium features like the Skoda Connect connected, a 10-inch touchscreen system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, LED lighting, dual-tone cabin, and more.

Skoda Kushaq India Launch Live Updates – VariantsThe new Skoda Kushaq is expected to be offered in two variants – Ambition and Style, with automatic options for both. The larger 1.5-litre fout cylinder TSI engine will only be offered in the latter. However, details will be announced soon.

Skoda Kushaq To Be Built On Locally Developed MQB-A0 IN PlatformThe new Skoda Kushaq is built on the company’s new MQB-A0-IN platform, a localised version of the VW Group’s versatile MQB architecture, which has been specifically developed for the Indian market. Thanks to the new platform, the Skoda Kushaq is expected to come with about 95 per cent of localised content and hence will be priced aggressively.

Skoda Kushaq India Launch Live Updates – DimensionsIn terms of dimensions, the Skoda Kushaq measures – 4,225 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width and has a height of 1,612 mm. The SUV come with a wheelbase of 2,651 mm. While, it’s not the longest, widest or tallest, however Skoda has designed the cabin to offer great space.
