Theatres across the country have reopened and many filmmakers have announced the release dates. However, some filmmakers are still open to releasing their films on OTT platforms as they reach a wider audience. We have prepared a list of films from Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada that you can binge this October. From Lift to Bhrmam, many films are all set to entertain the audience.

WHERE TO WATCH: DISNEY+HOTSTAR

WHEN TO WATCH: OCTOBER 1

Lift is a survival thriller featuring Kavin and Amritha Aiyer. Written and directed by debutant Vineeth, the film was initially slated to release in theatres. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the makers decided to release it on Disney+Hotstar. Lift follows the story of Guru and Harini who are trapped in a haunted workplace. The film is produced by Hepzi under the banner EKAA Entertainment

WHEN TO WATCH: OCTOBER 7

After Cold Case and Kuruthi, Prithviraj Sukumaran is back with another OTT release, Bhramam. Directed by Ravi K Chandran, Bhramam is the official Malayalam remake of the Hindi film, Andhadhun. Apart from Prithviraj, Bhramam features Unni Mukundan, Mamta Mohandas, Raashi Khanna and Shankar Panicker in key roles. While Prithviraj stepped into the shoes of Ayushmann Khurrana, Mamta and Raashi Khanna will be reprising Tabu and Radhika Apte’s roles, respectively.

WHEN TO WATCH: OCTOBER 10

Director AL Vijay’s Thalaivii is the official biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. Starring Kangana Ranaut and Arvind Swami in lead roles, Thalaivii released in theatres on September 10. While the Hindi version of the film released on Netflix on September 25, the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film will release on Amazon Prime Video.

WHEN TO WATCH: YET TO BE ANNOUNCED

Earlier this year, Suriya announced that four films from his production house, 2D Entertainment, will skip theatrical release and directly premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Director Era Saravanan’s Udapirappe is one of the four films. The family drama features M Sasikumar and Jyotika in lead roles. Reportedly, the film will talk about the bond between siblings. Samuthirakani, Soori, Kalaiyarasan, Nivedhithaa Sathish and Sija Rose have been roped in to play supporting roles.
