Stock markets are closed on Friday on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain closed for trading. The equity, currency and debt markets will resume trading on November 22.
Commodity segment trading will also remain suspended from 9 am to 5 pm and it will remain open in the evening session.
The stock market ended lower for the third consecutive session on Thursday as the NSE Nifty 50 closed below 17,800 and the S&P BSE Sensex fell nearly 400 points.
The two indexes closed the holiday-truncated week nearly 2 per cent lower to snap three consecutive weeks of gains, as global inflation worries and valuation concerns soured investor sentiment.
