Who would’ve imagined that on the eve of June 13 we’d lose one of the finest actors of the country the next day? What began as just any other Sunday came as a shock after the news broke out that Sushant Singh Rajput is no more. The actor was found dead in his Bandra apartment and sent shock waves across the globe with the news of his demise. It was initially reported that the actor was suffering from depression and had hung himself.

With constant public outrage, numerous people went on to claim that the actor was murdered and then followed numerous theories followed by controversies including an FIR against his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. 

Today, it’s been exactly a day since we began adding ‘late’ to the actor’s name. Amid fans paying a tribute to their favourite Chhichorre, we’re looking back at all the controversies surrounding SSR’s demise.

• Shortly after Sushant’s demise, a complaint was filed against Karan Johar, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, and others for propagating nepotism in the industry because of which SSR didn’t get recognition. On June 17, a lawyer filed a criminal complaint to state that Sushant was forced to ‘die by suicide.’ 
• Sushant was reportedly suffering from depression and bipolar disorder. Deepika came up with a series of posts on mental health that created a furor. Deepika was also miserably trolled for her posts.
• Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh filed FIR against Rhea Chakraborty

KK Singh filed an FIR at Bihar Police Station against Sushant’s girlfriend, Rhea. Inspector General, Patna Central Zone Sanjay Singh had further said that the actress has been booked under abetment of suicide among others including: 

306 (Abetment of suicide)
341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 
342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement)
380 (Theft in dwelling house)
406 (Punishment for criminal breach of trust)
420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property)

• The case was then transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation, Enforcement Directorate, and Narcotics Control Bureau. Rhea was called in for questioning by the NCB and on the third day, she was arrested in 14-day custody following the arrest of her brother Showik, SSR’s house manager and house help. 
• Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, and Sara Ali Khan were also summoned by the NCB after their names cropped in a WhatsApp chat allegedly trying to procure drugs. 

The case is still under investigation.
