Sonu Mahal, who was present in the Chhatrasal Stadium during the time of the brawl, narrated the whole incident that took place on May 5 and led to the murder of a 23-year old wrestler Sagar Rana.

In an exclusive conversation with Aaj Tak, Sonu has revealed that Sushil beat him relentlessly on the night of May 5. Sonu further told that Sushil had beaten and driven away Virendra, a coach in the Chhatrasal Stadium, who then opened his own arena in Nangloi. Notably, Sagar started taking 50-60 wrestlers from Chhatrasal to Nagloi, which made Sushil furious.

Sonu revealed that Sushil was very angry on the night of 4-5 May and had taken five people along with Sagar and himself a hostage. Sushil had to release one of the boys after his wife called the police.

According to Sonu, Sushil Kumar was searching for Sagar Dhankar since the morning of 4th May. Later on the same day, the henchmen of Sushil and Neeraj Bawana forcibly picked up two boys named Amit and Ravindra from the outer Delhi area and took them, hostage, in the car. After being heavily beaten, both boys told Sushil the address of Sagar and Sonu’s flat.

Sushil along with his companions reached Sagar’s flat and took him, hostage, in the car and started beating him. Sagar and Sonu were released after which both were taken to the hospital.

The biggest revelation is that Sushil kidnapped and kept one of Sagar’s accomplices Bhagat Singh hostage and beat him all night. Bhagat Singh’s wife called Delhi Police’s 100 number and informed that her husband has been kidnapped on the night of May 5.

When Sushil Kumar got the information, he made a video call to Bhagat Singh’s wife and Bhagat told his wife that he was fine and not kidnapped. However, Bhagat Singh’s wife got suspicious and then she again called the police after which Sushil released Bhagat Singh alias, Bhagat. Sagar has died while Sonu Mahal’s hands are broken in which the rod has been installed. All the witnesses/victims including Sonu have got police protection.
