The coronavirus outbreak has heavily affected the cinema industry as many big releases have been postponed and several big budgeted movies which were in the making got delayed in their process. Now that the cinema industry is getting back to normal and is on its way of getting a pace, the Tamil Nadu government has implemented new rules for cinemas. Accordingly, ahead of ‘Maanaadu’ release, the TN government has passed an order permitting only vaccinated people in theatres and other public places. This has become a worry for cinema fans and theatre owners as recently the government allowed 100% occupancy in theatres.
‘Maanaadu’ makers, who postponed the film from the Diwali release considering the film’s business, are again worried about the new rule because it might reduce the audience and the film’s business. ‘Maanaadu’ producer Suresh Kamatchi has also requested Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to reconsider the new rule. Suresh Kamatchi explained the disadvantages of the new rule, and how it might affect a film’s business. So, he requested the Chief Minister to revoke the rule for some days.

Silambarasan’s ‘Maanaadu’, Sasikumar’s ‘Rajavamsam’, and Atharvaa’s ‘Kuruthi Attam’ are the big releases of this week, and both are long-delayed projects.
