The Tamil Nadu Department of Health and Family Welfare is planning to seek an explanation from actor-politician Kamal Haasan for flouting COVID-19 norms. Kamal, who had been hospitalised after testing positive for COVID on November 22, was discharged on Saturday (December 4).
However, upon his discharge, the actor went straight to the shoot of his TV show Bigg Boss Tamil, which he is hosting.
Now, the TN Health Department has taken exception to the actor’s decision to go directly to his shoot, breaking COVID norms. The government’s safety regulation stipulates that those who have recovered from COVID should isolate themselves at home for seven days post their discharge from the hospital.
The TN Health Secretary Dr J Radhakrishnan has stated, “Even if those who had tested positive for coronavirus had isolated themselves in the hospital and got treated for it, they are required to isolate themselves for seven days at home. But after recovering at the hospital, Kamal Haasan hasn’t isolated himself for seven days. Instead, he had gone to shoot for Bigg Boss. So, the health department will be sending a notice to him seeking an explanation for his action.”
During Kamal’s hospitalisation, actress Ramya Krishnan had guest hosted Bigg Boss Tamil for a week.
