India’s Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Sanjeev Rajput fail to qualify for men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions final after finishing 21st and 32nd respectively in the qualification round. Their exit marks the end of a disappointing shooting campaign for India at the Olympics with pistol shooter Saurabh Chaudhary being the only one who managed to reach a final.

Tomar shot a total of 1167 with 63 inner 10s in the qualification over the stages of kneeling, prone and standing, while Rajput, appearing in his third Olympics, aggregated 1157 with 55 inner 10s.

The cut was made at 1176, with only the top eight athletes qualifying for the finals. Russian Olympic Committee’s Sergey Kamenskiy topped the standings with 1183 points and with 78 inner 10s. China’s Changongh Zhang shot as many points with 67 inner 10s to finish second while Norway’s Jonn-Hermann Hegg scored 64 inner 10s and finished third.
