US President-elect Donald Trump showered Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif with praise during a phone call on Wednesday, providing a glimpse into his diplomatic strategy.

“You are a terrific guy. You are doing amazing work which is visible in every way,” Trump said on the call, according to a press release issued by the press information department (PID) of the Pakistani government.

 “I am ready and willing to play any role that you want me to play to address and find solutions to the outstanding problems.”

 “Please convey to the Pakistani people that they are amazing and all Pakistanis I have known are exceptional people,” Trump said.
