Lady Superstar Nayanthara is one of the most loved actresses in the South Indian film industry. It’s been two years since the actress began working on the thriller, titled Netrikann, directed by Milind Rau who had made his debut with the Siddharth, Andrea Jeremiah starrer thriller Aval fame. 

The music of Netrikann has been composed by Girrishh and the cinematography is by RD Rajasekar. Lawrence Kishore takes care of the editing and artwork is being done by S Kamalanathan. 

Today, the makers released the first single from the film titled Idhuvum Kadandhu Pogum (This too shall pass) which has been written by Karthik Netha and Sid Sriram has rendered his vocals. 

The lyrical video of the song contains pictures of Nayanthara’s character from the film and frontline workers who actively worked during the pandemic.  The hopeful lyrics of the song emphasise the timeless philosophy of nature, This too shall pass. 

Further, the song’s lyrics beautifully describe the miracle impetus of nature that serves as the basis for the growth and nourishment of beings. 

Vignesh Shivan took to his Twitter handle and shared the link to the song. He expressed his gratitude to Girishh and said that the latter had made the film so special.

“Thank U @ggirishh for this beautiful song. You have made the first song from our first film sooo special. You are too good & your work is Soo inspiring thank U for this again (sic),” tweeted Vignesh Shivan.

Last year, the first look poster of the film was released. The film is reportedly an official remake of the Korean thriller Blind. Nayanthara can be seen playing the role of a visually impaired girl. Netrikann is Nayanthara’s 65th film.

The film is bankrolled by Vignesh Shivan under the banner of Rowdy Pictures Pvt Ltd. This marks the first-time collaboration between Milind Rau and Nayanthara.

Interestingly, Netrikann is also the title of Superstar Rajinikanth’s 1981 film, which was produced by K Balachander’s Kavithalaya Productions. Netrikann or Netri Kan means the third eye.https://www.youtube.com/embed/W6zSO7kQZNI

On the work front,  actress Nayanthara was last seen in the Rajinikanth-starrer Darbar and RJ Balaji’s Mookuthi Amman, a devotional film. 

Mookuthi Amman was produced by Ishari K Ganesh under his home banner Vels Film International. The music for the film was composed by Girishh G.  Nayanthara is also a part of Vignesh Shivan’s upcoming directorial Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal that co-stars Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha.
