It was in the year 2010 when a girl from Jamshedpur made a promising mark in the entertainment industry. Pratyusha Banerjee her name was, the young actress became a household name with her portrayal of Anandi in the popular television show Balika Vadhu. After being a part of the show for 3 years, there was no looking back for the actress. From television soaps to reality shows, work was pouring in bounty for Pratyusha when the most unexpected incident happened.

Pratyusha Banerjee was living with her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh in Mumbai and died by suicide when no one was in the house. While not much is known about the late actress’ dating history, it was only after Vikas Gupta announced that he was in a relationship with Pratyusha for some time when the news broke for many.

Vikas Gupta, in an interview with ETimes TV, also shared if he met late Pratyusha Banerjee’s boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh before she passed away. He shared, “The visual I remember of Rahul Raj Singh is he was eating chips outside the hospital (when Pratyusha had died by suicide). I entered to see that Makrand Malhotra was around and he was calling up people. Pratyusha had dated Makrand (before Rahul Raj Singh) and that was the sweetest relationship of her life.”

When asked if he had met Rahul prior to the hospital, Vikas Gupta said, “I think I had, when I went for Pratyusha’s birthday once. She’d invited me. However, I didn’t stay too long as I was not friendly with that group.”

Pratyusha had also participated in many couple reality shows with boyfriend Rahul. If you happen to scroll through her Instagram feed, you will notice that her last post was also with Rahul. Sharing a photo of the two wearing aviator sunnies, the late actress had written on October 26, 2015, “Last pic before we enter the power couple house… Wont be uploading pics for a very long time … So wish me n rahul luck n miss us.. Lots of Love to all our friends … Ll miss u all tooooooo… May the best couple win…” And true to her words, this was indeed their last picture ever on Instagram. Take a look at the photo here:

While this year marked the 5th death anniversary of Pratyusha (she passed away on April 01, 2016), her once boyfriend Rahul is a married man. He tied the knot with actress Saloni Sharma in 2018.
