Gujarat Titans are set to square off against Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday, 24 May. Titans, who have been fantastic throughout the group stage of the Indian Premier League have two local boys in their team – Wriddhiman Saha and Mohammad Shami.

With the kind of cricket that Gujarat have played throughout the tournament, they are primed to win against Rajasthan Royals, in what could be a rain-affected game at Kolkata. There are predictions of thunderstorms in the evening, but that plays straight into the hands of the Titans, who have been incredible at chasing targets down this season owing to the likes of Rahul Tewatia, David Miller and Rashid Khan.

Titans players got together ahead of the game and delved into why playing at the Eden Gardens in special and what makes the ground stand out from the other venues in the country.

Local boy Saha started off by saying that growing up as a cricketer his dream was to hit a six at the iconic stadium, and when the moment arrived, he felt at peace. Saha, who has been a stalwart for Bengal for many years, will hope for loud cheers from the crowd.

Apart from him and Shami, former Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Shubman Gill will also be returning to Eden and he hopes to get a lot of support from Kolkata.

Gujarat Titans spinner Jayanth Yadav also delved into playing at the stadium and said that there were a few stadiums in the country which remain on the checklist for every player and Eden Gardens was certainly one of them.

Gujarat are scheduled to take on Rajasthan at 7:30 PM in the first qualifier of the Indian Premier League.
