Fans at cricket grounds often come up with innovative posters to make sure they grab the attention of the broadcasters and the players. On Thursday, a kid at the Adelaide Oval did not have to do much but just ask for the t-shirt of Australia opener David Warner and he was given plenty of air time during the first ODI between Australia and England.

David Warner, who is known for the way he acknowledges the love and support of his fans, made the young fan’s day by responding to the his request with a poster of his own from the dressing room.

The broadcasters captured the conversation between David Warner and his young fan during Australia’s chase in the ODI series at the Adelaide Oval. Warner was also involved in banter with his teammate Marnus Labuschagne, who was seated next to the opener in the Australian dressing room.

In a viral video shared by Cricket Australia, the young kid can be seen holding up a poster that read “David Warner, can I have your shirt?”. The kid appeared on the big screen and Labuschange gestured Warner to sign the jacket he was wearing and gift it to his fan.

However, Warner came up with another poster that read: “Get one off Marnus”.

There were laughs in the commentary box and the kid was delighted that Warner responded to his poster. Soon after, another fan in the crowd sneaked into the frame with a poster that read: “Marnus, can I have your shirt?”

Warner was in splits after seeing the response. The Australia star signaled to the kid to come and meet him after the match.

The Australian camp was all smiles as they comfortably defeated world champions England in the first ODI.

Warner top-scored for Australia with a 80-ball 86 while Steve Smith hit an unbeaten 80 as the hosts chased down 287 in just 46.5 overs.

England were reeling at 158 for 6, but they rode on a special knock from Dawid Malan (128-ball 134) to post a par total on the board in 50 overs in Adelaide.
