The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that thunderstorms with moderate and heavy intensity rain to continue over isolated places in Delhi on Monday.

As per the weather bulletin, thunderstorms, along with moderate and heavy intensity showers are likely to continue in several parts of the national capital on Monday. Areas such as Noida, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, are likely to receive heavy rainfall.

The rainfall activity is expected to subside by tomorrow, with partly cloudy skies and a shallow fog on the morning of October 19. From Wednesday onwards, mainly clear skies are forecast in the region.

On Sunday too, the national capital was hit by heavy rain, leading to waterlogging and traffic jams in many areas, causing inconvenience for commuters. The maximum temperature on Sunday settled at around 33 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature on Sunday settled at 23.5 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal.

However, the city is also witnessing a dip in air quality due to stubble burning. Ministry of Earth Sciences’ forecast body SAFAR said the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded as 350, which falls in the ”very poor” category with PM2.5 as the lead pollutant.

Besides Delhi, moderate to heavy rains were predicted for almost all adjoining areas in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

Chennai weather forecast

There are prospects for mild rain in a few places in the southern districts of Pudhukkottai, Trichy, Delta Districts, and Karaikkal.

There are prospects for mild to medium rain in the northern coastal districts and Puducherry.

IMD forecast thunderstorms with rain in the city and suburbs for at least the next two days while parts of north and coastal Tamil Nadu may receive rain with varying intensity for at least four days next week.

Kolkata weather forecast

According to the IMD prediction, heavy rain is expected over a few pockets of Kolkata, North and South 24 Parganas, Howrah and East Midnapore on Tuesday.

Parts of North Bengal are likely to have rain from Monday to Wednesday.
