WhatsApp’s multi-device support lets users add up to four devices to a single account. The messaging app has now been spotted testing a paid feature that would let users add more devices to a single account. The current setup lets users pair a tablet, computer and laptop, but no secondary smartphone. WhatsApp only lets you pair one smartphone at a time. The best bit now is that you do not even need a phone with the internet.
As per Wabetainfo, WhatsApp is working on a new subscription plan especially for WhatsApp Business users. It is reportedly creating an all-new interface for the Linkedin Device section. “WhatsApp uses a completely different description for multi-devices in this revamped interface, claiming that you can add multiple devices to the account so different people in the business can all talk to a customer in the same chat, “ wabetainfo reports.
The multi-device feature lets users access four devices at the same time. In the beta mode, people could log into the desktop version of WhatsApp without requiring the primary phone with an active internet connection. WhatsApp had previously revealed that ever since it had rolled out the beta version of the multi-device feature, it had witnessed an increase in people accessing”the feature directly through the web browser.
Wabetainfo reports that the subscription plan is reserved for WhatsApp business accounts and offers additional features to businesses. For instance, now users can pair up to four devices at once but with the new subscription plan, you will be able to link up to 10 devices. However, this feature will not be available for free, you will have to pay for it. There will be additional services too, but they will be announced in the future if WhatsApp makes the feature official.
“Note that, even if WhatsApp is working on a subscription plan, it does not mean that you need to pay to use WhatsApp when the subscription plan is released: nothing changes for users and the app will always be free to use. The subscription plan is totally optional and it offers additional services for business accounts, like Twitter Blue for Twitter. If a business needs those additional services, they can consider subscribing,” the report states. Now it is not clear whether it is a yearly or a monthly subscription plan.
