On Day 2 of India’s intra-squad match ahead of World Test Championship (WTC) final versus New Zealand from June 18, Avesh Khan stunned Cheteshwar Pujara with a beautiful in-swinging delivery in Southampton.

In a video posted by BCCI, the young pacer can be seen pitching the ball at a good length but the ball swings in sharply much to the surprise of India’s prolific number three, who had opted to leave the ball to wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.

Rohit Shama, Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, Wriddhiman Saha can also be seen facing the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur.

KL Rahul looked in good knick as he came down the track to send one of Jadeja’s delivery flying over the mid-on boundary rope for a six.

On Day 1 of the intra-squad match, Rishabh Pant smashed unbeaten 121 off just 94 balls. Opener Shubman Gill solidified his position as an opener for the summit clash with a handy 85 off 135 deliveries.

The practice match is expected to give India players a good chance to acclimatise to the English conditions where the Dukes ball moves throughout the day. New Zealand are already engaged in a 2-Test series against England.

After the first Test at Lord’s ended in a draw, the Kiwis in th absence of their captain Kane Williamson came all guns blazing in Edgbaston and are on the verge of sealing the match and the series.

At the time of stumps, hosts England were leading by 37 runs in the 2nd innings but had only a wicket left in their kitty.
