Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro are likely to be launched in India early April. Both the smartphones were introduced in China late December. Interestingly, Xiaomi is planning to introduce both these flagship phones in global markets first. According to leaker Mukul Sharma, Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro can be introduced in the global markets in March 2022. He adds that Xiaomi can launch these devices in India in April too.

The leak is believable as Xiaomi followed a similar strategy last year. The Mi 11 series was introduced globally in March 2021 and was brought to India in April 2021. Back then, Xiaomi only introduced Mi 11X, Mi 11X Pro and Mi 11 Ultra in India.

We still don’t have an exact date for India launch but, Xiaomi 12 smartphones can still be one of the firsts to pack Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processors in the country. No smartphone maker has announced a device with this chip in India yet.

Xiaomi 12 Pro is the more premium of the two smartphones. It comes with a 6.73-inch QHD+ (1,440×3,200 pixels) LTPO AMOLED display with 1,500 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. There is also 480Hz touch sampling and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The phone packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip also powers this phone with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. As for the cameras, the smartphone comes with a 50-megapixel primary Sony IMX707 sensor with OIS, 50-megapixel portrait sensor and a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor. There is a 32-megapixel sensor on the front.

The phone packs a large 4,600mAh battery that now supports 120W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging, also able to reverse wireless charge other devices at 10W.
