Xiaomi is prepping to launch the Redmi 10 Prime in India on September 3 and while you may think it has finally taken the focus off the Note 10 series, seems like the smartphone is not done yet. Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 10 line-up in March with three devices Note 10, Note 10 Pro and Note 10 Pro Max before adding the Note 10S and Note 10T 5G in the coming months. It is now set to add a sixth device to the series, probably soon after the Redmi 10 Prime is introduced.

Tipster Kacper Skrzypek tweeted on August 23 that Xiaomi might be planning to launch the Redmi Note 10 Lite in Indian soon. He suggested that this can be a rebranded variant of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The smartphone was launched in 2020 alongside the Redmi Note 9 pro Max. The same smartphone was also launched globally as the Redmi Note 9S.

The tipster tweet that he found a phone with model number 2109106A1I, where ‘I’ suggests India as the targeted market. This means that Redmi Note 10 Lite is likely to launch in the Indian market soon.

There is no word on the specifications of the Redmi Note 10 Lite. There is a chance that Xiaomi may borrow most features from the Redmi Note 9 Pro and use a better processor on the device. Going by the naming scheme, it should still be positioned under the Redmi Note 10 which further reduces the scope of major upgrades.

To recall, the Redmi Note 9 Pro was launched with a 6.67-inch IPS LCD with full HD+ resolution. Xiaomi may also upgrade the display with an AMOLED panel. It has used AMOLED displays on most Note 10 series smartphones this year. The Redmi Note 9 Pro was powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset. The smartphone packs up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

It featured a quad-camera setup that consists of a 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. At the front the Redmi Note 9 Pro sports a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The device draws a power from a 5020mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging.
