Yoga Certification Board of India has appointed Indian Council for Cultural Relations as the personnel certification body. ICCR, along with the Ministry of Ayush, will now start Yoga Certification courses for the professionals across the world. Apart from holding Yoga courses, ICCR will now ensure Indian embassies become the centres for Yoga Certification.

In 2020, the Ministry of AYUSH, in the discipline of Yoga, had partnered with ICCR to spread Yoga around the globe. The Yoga Certification Board partnered with ICCR by accrediting it as a Personnel Certification Body (PrCB) of YCB. ICCR will now conduct Yoga Certification courses, exams and practicals across the globe. The council will now be responsible for issuing certificates to the yoga professionals.

The recent Tweet from ICCR on Yoga Certification says, “Indian Embassies abroad will now be nodal points for certification of Yoga professionals. Watch DG ICCR, Dinesh K Patnaik‘s message about ICCR, Delhi being appointed as a Personnel Certification Body of Yoga Certification Board.”

The ICCR, which is actively involved in formulating and implementing policies and programmes pertaining to India’s cultural relations, has found a potential partner in YCB. The MoU signed by ICCR with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga aims to scale up Yoga training across the globe. More information can be obtained on the official website of ICCR, iccr.gov.in.

As per the recent updates, the ICCR will certify Yoga Professionals, Yoga Institutes and Centers in foreign countries and guide them on the need to follow authentic practices. ICCR will also accredit Yoga Institution and Centers abroad. ICCR has now become the sole responsible body from India to provide Yoga Certification courses to the professionals across the globe.
