Revanth Reddy, Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, has tested positive for Covid-19. He has mild symptoms, he said in a tweet on Monday morning.

“I have tested positive for Covid with mild symptoms. Those who came in contact with me over the last few days, kindly take necessary precautions,” Congress leader Revanth Reddy wrote.

Revanth Reddy is the MP from Malkajgiri in Telangana. He is the president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee. Earlier, he was a two-time MLA from Telugu Desam Party. He joined the Congress in 2017.

COVID IN INDIA

With the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, India is witnessing a surge in coronavirus cases. On Monday, India reported 33,750 new Covid cases and 123 deaths in 24 hours.

India’s active caseload now stands at 1,45,582. In the last 24 hours, active cases increased by 22,781.

Meanwhile, the total number of Omicron cases in India has risen to 1,700.
