On Friday, the prices of both gold and silver changed on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Recording a marginal dip of Rs 4 or 0.01 per cent, gold futures, maturing on October 5, 2021, stand at Rs 46,100 per 10 grams.

Meanwhile, silver futures, maturing on December 3, 2021, are trading at Rs 61,168 per kg, witnessing a hike of Rs 162 or 0.27 per cent.

Yesterday, the rate of gold stood at Rs 46,880 per 10 grams, while silver traded at Rs 63,475 per kg. The prices of gold and silver stood at Rs 46,076 and Rs 61,077, respectively, when the market closed on Thursday.

Gold and Silver prices on international market:

As per Reuters, gold prices were set for a second weekly loss as a firmer dollar dented the metal’s allure for holders of other currencies while investors await a key U.S. Federal Reserve meeting for clues on how soon the central bank will start to taper stimulus.

While the spot gold was flat at $1,754.86 per ounce, as of 0037 GMT, today, U.S. gold futures fell 0.1 per cent to $1,755.00. Bullion slipped as much as 2.7 per cent on Thursday, and has dropped 1.8 per cent so far this week.

The dollar held near three-week highs against a basket of major currencies after a raft of strong U.S. economic data rekindled expectations for earlier policy tightening by the U.S. Federal Reserve, reported Reuters.

Meanwhile, silver was flat at $22.93 per ounce, after hitting its lowest in more than a month on Thursday.
