ISRO posted “The Ch-3 Rover ramped down from the Lander and India took a walk on the moon.”  The Rover can travel upto 1640 feet on the lunar surface .  Rover is the size of a microwave oven. The moon’s atmosphere, mineralogy and geology can be studied by conducting experiments. India’s third lunar mission is chandrayaan – 3. In 2008 the first chandrayaan – 1 was launched and operated for two years. The second  Chandrayaan-2, was launched in 2019 but failed to land on the Moon. The successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 makes India the fourth  country to soft land on the moon .  Before India trying United States, the Soviet Union, and China tried it. The Pragyan rover is the first of its kind to be deployed on the Moon’s south pole. It‘s embedded with a  a magnetometer, a spectrometer and a camera. The composition, mineralogy, and atmosphere of the moon will be studied through the experiments conducted by this Rover. For 14 earth days it will operate as it’s powered by solar energy. After 14 days the light will not be available near the south region so the Rover wont work.
