The wait is finally over! Fans have been eagerly waiting for an update on Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone-starrer 83. The film’s release got delayed due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. But, now it looks like we finally have a release date. Sharing a teaser of the film, Ranveer announced that 83 will release in theatres on December 24.

83 TO RELEASE IN THEATRES

Making the big announcement on Instagram, Ranveer shared a 59-second video and wrote that the film’s trailer will be out on November 30. He wrote, “The greatest Story. The greatest Glory. 83 RELEASING IN CINEMAS ON 24TH DEC, 2021, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Teaser out now. Trailer out on 30th Nov. #ThisIs83 (sic).”

83 WAS LAST YEAR’S CHRISTMAS RELEASE

Due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, Ranveer Singh’s 83’s Christmas 2020 release got pushed. The film was earlier scheduled to release on April 10, 2020. The story is based on India cricket team’s 1983 World Cup win. The film has been directed by Kabir Khan.

Ranveer Singh plays the role of Kapil Dev, who was the captain of the World Cup-winning team. Deepika will essay the role of Ranveer’s wife.

Apart from Ranveer and Deepika, the film boasts of an ensemble cast, comprising of actors like Saqib Saleem, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Ammy Virk, Chirag Patil, Harrdy Sandhu, Jiiva, Sahil Khattar, Jatin Sarna, Pankaj Tripathi and Boman Irani, among others.
