Aplea filed in the Supreme Court by Arunachal Justice Forum seeking a probe against Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and his government for their involvement in alleged misused funds granted to various departments has been disposed of by the court.

“Having heard learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioners, learned senior counsel appearing for the state of Arunachal Pradesh and carefully perusing the material available on record, we find that the main relief and the interim relief prayed for are one and the same and as such, there is no need to pass any interim order in the said application at this stage. In view of the above, the said application stands disposed of,” the court said in its order passed on Tuesday.

Earlier, the All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) had made wild and baseless allegations against Pema Khandu that he and his relatives indulged in a multi-crore rupees scam and the chief minister had misused funds allocated to various departments.

The association also alleged that Pema Khandu was involved in the scams under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY), panchayat and hydropower schemes, among others.

Advocate Anil Shrivastava said that the entire allegation is totally baseless.

“The allegations which were made against the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister are completely baseless and they have no merit,” Shrivastava said.
