 In the SSLC exam, Mohammad Kaif Mulla of St.Xavier school in Belagavi has come second in state, with 99.84% marks. He is the district topper. His overall total is 624 marks out of 625 marks. He got 100 marks in all subjects but 99 in science. He is from military cantonment school. Soujanya Shankar Nesargi from the Government High School in Mudalagi in Chikkodi Educational District got 622 marks out of the 625. She has got 100 marks in four subjects. Her father Shankarappa is a farmer in Hunshiyal village. She has also won a scholarship by passing the merit-cum-means scholarship of the Union government. She said that she wants to study science and become a doctor. Netravati’s father died a day before her examinations. But despite it she wrote. “But I went ahead and wrote the exam,” said Netravati Mahadev Hunji, a student of Kittur Rani Channamma Residential School who has got 88.64 % marks. She wants to study science and become a government officer to support her family. Zilla Panchayat CEO R. Ramachandran has spoken to each one of the families. He has invited these meritorious students, their parents and teachers to the Zilla Panchayat offices where they will be felicitated on Tuesday. Chikkodi is the third district ranked acording to SSLC results announced on Monday. Chikkodi recorded a pass percentage of 87.01 this year, as against 80.47 last year. Chikkodi was in the fifth place last year.
