Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has reached the Arthur Road prison where his son Aryan Khan is lodged since October 8 after being arrested in the Mumbai cruise drugs case.

Physical meetings at the jail were prohibited over the Covid-19 pandemic. These restrictions ended on Wednesday and Thursday was the first day of physical meetings in Maharashtra jails.

Shah Rukh Khan’s meeting with Aryan lasted about 16 to 18 minutes in the visitation section. There was a glass partition between them and they spoke over the intercom. Jail authorities were present at the section when Shah Rukh Khan spoke to his son.

Shah Rukh Khan’s 23-year-old son Aryan Khan was yet again denied bail on Wednesday after being arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on October 3 in the Mumbai cruise drugs bust case.

It’s been over two weeks that Aryan Khan was arrested by the NCB. He has now approached the Bombay High Court to seek bail in the drugs case.

While rejecting the bail application of Aryan Khan, Judge VV Patil held that prima facie there is evidence against him. Judge Patil wrote that though Aryan Khan was not found in possession of drugs, Aryan and Arbaaz Merchant are good friends. They travelled together to the International Cruise Terminal on October 2 and in their voluntary statement, spoke about the drugs, which implies that Aryan knew about the contraband.https://embed.indiatoday.in/share/video/embed/1072

Aryan Khan along with Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha have been booked for offences under Sections 8(c), 20(b), 27, 28, 29 and 35 of the NDPS Act.

Bail pleas of all the three were rejected on Wednesday. They are currently in judicial custody. While Aryan Khan and Arbaaz Merchant are lodged at the Arthur Road prison in Mumbai, Munmun Dhamecha is lodged at the Byculla women’s prison in Mumbai.
