Gita Gopinath appointed as new IMF

Gita Gopinath, who was born in Mysore as the first female chief economist at the International Fund (IMF).she is the first woman in the history of the IMF.

Gita aged 47, lives in the United States. Gita Gopinath who worked as an economics professor at Harvard University.

Earlier, Maris worked as an economic advisor to IMF and director of research. Gita Gopinath was sworn in on January 1 as her term ended December 31.
