The stage is all set for a grand ‘bhoomi pujan’ ceremony for the proposed airport at Jewar, with a massive tent covering an area of over 12 lakh square feet having been constructed.

The Bharatiya Janata Party claims that it will be the biggest election rally in western Uttar Pradesh on November 25, with over 2.5 lakh people expected to gather. Once constructed, it will be the fourth-largest airport in the world and the largest in India.

“The total area covered by the tent is more than 12 lakh sq ft. The stage is about 12 feet high, with LED screens in the background playing 3D videos of the proposed airport. The ‘bhoomi pujan’ area is behind the stages and a separate tent has been set up for the ceremony,” said Dhirendra Singh, MLA, Jewar, Greater Noida.

Apart from the grand tent and stage, a lounge for PM, a helipad and asphalt roads to the venue have also been set up.

“Nearly 2.5 lakh people will be visiting the rally to witness the foundation stone laying ceremony of the biggest developmental project in the entire west UP by PM Modi,” said Singh.

The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated 5,845 hectares of land for the upcoming international airport project.

Currently, the largest airport is King Fahad International Airport in Saudi Arabia, with a total area of 77,600 hectares, followed by Denver International Airport in the US, with a total area of 13,571 hectares.

The third-largest airport is Dallas International Airport in the US, with a total area of 6,963 hectares, while Jewar airport will be the fourth largest.
