Powerful earthquake in Philippines; Tsunami possible

Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said Tsunami waves possible after powerful earthquake strikes southeast of Davao on Mindanao in the southern Philippines.

There is a tsunami threat for coastlines of the Philippines and Indonesia within 300 km of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Mindanao, Philippines.

This scale is faulty since it does not factor in epicenter depth or local preparedness for earthquakes.
