Ajay Devgn, who stepped into the shoes of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim in Maidaan, is excited about the film’s release. Announcing that Maidaan will hit the cinemas on June 3, 2022 around the world, the actor said the film’s story will resonate with every Indian. Directed by Amit Sharma, the film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh.

AJAY DEVGN’S MAIDAAN GETS A RELEASE DATE

The release dates of many highly-anticipated films have been announced over the last couple of days. Now, Ajay Devgn has shared the release date of Maidaan with his fans. The actor took to social media to share new posters of the film and wrote, “Maidaan, A story that will resonate with every Indian, a film that I feel very strongly about. Mark the date on your calendar. Releasing worldwide on 3rd June, 2022 (sic).”

ABOUT MAIDAAN

Maidaan brings the story of one of India’s finest football coaches, Syed Abdul Rahim, to the big screen. Zee Studios announced the film in 2018. It was under Rahim’s leadership that the Indian football team won the Asian games in 1951 and 1962.

Talking about the film, producer Boney Kapoor had said in a statement, “I was amazed that not many are aware of someone as significant as Syed Abdul Rahim. He’s an unsung hero whose achievements must be saluted. His team had heroes like Chunni Goswami, PK Banerjee, Balaram, Franco and Arun Ghosh. It takes someone like Ajay Devgn to play Syed Abdul Rahim. With him on board, I can just hope that our film inspires youngsters to play football, and India soon to bring the World Cup home.”

Maidaan’s screenplay and dialogues are written by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah respectively.
