Recently, reports claimed that Abhishek Bachchan is no longer a part of John Abraham-starrer Ayyappanum Koshiyum remake. Director Jagan Shakti is remaking the Malayalam film in Hindi. Now, according to latest reports, Arjun Kapoor has replaced Junior B. John is playing the lead role in the film while Arjun will be seen as the second lead. The film will go on floors by November.

ARJUN KAPOOR IN AYYAPPANUM KOSHIYUM REMAKE?

Arjun Kapoor has reportedly replaced Abhishek Bachchan in the Hindi remake of Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum. The film is being helmed by Jagan Shakti. Arjun will be seen sharing screen space with John Abraham in the remake. Interestingly, the two actors are currently working together in Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain Returns.

Confirming the news, a source close to the development told Pinkvilla, “John and Arjun are currently shooting for Ek Villain Returns. Both of them have gelled up well on the sets. John discussed the idea of getting Arjun on board the film with his director, Jagan Shakti, who insisted on a meeting with the actor. The two met and set the ball rolling from the word go. While John will play the role of Biju Menon from the original, Arjun steps into Prithviraj’s shoes. The prep work has begun and film goes on floors by November 2021.”

ARJUN KAPOOR AND JOHN ABRAHAM IN EK VILLAIN RETURNS

Before Ayyappanum Koshiyum, Arjun Kapoor and John Abraham will be seen sharing screen space in Mohit Suri’s directorial venture Ek Villain Returns. In the film, the two actors play characters with grey shade. Arjun had replaced Aditya Roy Kapur in the film, which also stars Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria. The actors are currently shooting for the second schedule of the film. Disha wrapped up the second schedule recently and thanked her team for their support. Ek Villain Returns is scheduled to release on February 11, 2022.

Meanwhile, Arjun Kapoor is currently waiting for the release of Bhoot Police, also starring Saif Ali Khan, Yami Gautama nd Jacqueline Fernandez. The film is scheduled to release on Disney+Hotstar on September 17. He also has Ajay Bahl’s untitled film and Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kuttey in the pipeline.
