In Uttarpradesh two years ago a Rs. 471 crore  contract of the  Chinese Railway signalling  and Telecom arm for its works, the Railways had terminated them. So the Chinese firm has claimed the Rs. 279 crore compensation in an International dispute where the Chinese firm has locked Indian Railways. Under  International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules in Singapore The company, China Railway Signalling and Communication (CRSC) Research and Design Institute, recently instituted arbitration  under International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules in Singapore.  A  Railway source said that in the International tribunal the matter is headed for a slowdown. In 2020, DFCCIL terminated CRSC’s contract for installation signalling and telecom systems on the 417-km stretch between Kanpur and Mughalsarai (now Deen Dayal Upadhyay) stations in UP for the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Among the dispute of the neighbours in Ladakh , the contract was terminated at peak of the border. The reason behind this move was the non-performance by the contractor. The termination of the contract in 2020 was first reported by the Indian Express, at that time Delhi High court dealt with the matter dragged by the Chinese company . As per the chinese company the termination of the contract was illegal.
