Delhi Government has decided to recruit 5000 Medical Assistants as a preparatory measure for COVID 19 third wave. Candidates who are interested and eligible can check for more information on the website of Delhi Government. The online application process will begin from tomorrow, on June 17, 2021.

The announcement was made by the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today in a live press conference. He said Delhi government will build a force of 5000 community nursing assistants or Medical Assistants. CM further added that the recruitment will be on first-come-first-serve basis.

The government’s decision on the recruitment of 5000 medical assistants will certainly strengthen the shortage of the manpower raised during the second wave. These youths will be given training for two weeks.

Delhi Medical Assistants: Eligibility Criteria

1. Candidates applying for the position must be 18 years of age.
2. Candidates must have passed class 12 examinations from a recognized university.

The selected candidates will be trained by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. These 5000 medical assistants will be given 2 weeks training each in batches of 500 starting from June 28, 2021.

Delhi Government would be accepting online applications for the notified posts. The candidates who qualify and are interested may please keep a check on the official site of Delhi Government for more updates on the notification. Online link would be activated tomorrow.

The selected candidates will be trained in paramedics, life care, home care, first aid, administering injections including vaccines and sample collection etc. As per the announcement, the recruited medical assistants will only assist the doctors and nurses. They will not have the power to take any decision in patient’s treatment.
