On November 23, 2021, gold prices have recorded a hike, while silver is trading on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Witnessing a jump of Rs 12 or 0.03 per cent, gold futures maturing on December 3, 2021, stand at Rs 47,946 per 10 grams on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, silver futures maturing on December 3, 2021, are retailing at Rs 64,637 per kg, witnessing a downfall of 0.03 per cent or Rs 20.

Yesterday, while gold traded at Rs 48,794 per 10 grams on the MCX, silver futures, maturing on December 3, 2021, stood at Rs 65,458 per kg.

Gold and silver prices in the international market:

As per Reuter’s metal report, gold prices inched higher on Tuesday but held close to a more than two-week low, as the dollar jumped on bets for quicker interest rate increases after U.S. President Joe Biden backed Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell for a second term.

Meanwhile, spot gold rose 0.2% to $1,808.71 per ounce by 0344 GMT, after sliding 2.1 per cent to its lowest since Nov. 5 on Monday. U.S. gold futures gained 0.2 per cent to $1,809.10.

The dollar index held near a 16-month peak after Biden on Monday nominated Fed Chair Powell for a second four-year term and Governor Lael Brainard as Vice-Chair.

On the other hand, silver rose 0.6 per cent to $24.32 per ounce, internationally.
