India Women beat Pakistan Women by 17 runs to clinch the Asian Cricket Council Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup title in Bangkok, Thailand today (Sunday).

Pakistan were set a target of 122 by India but could only manage 104 for the loss of six wickets after a close finish. Skipper Bismah Maroof was the top scorer for Pakistan with 25 runs. Opener Javeria Khan scored 22. Nida Dar and Sana Mir were not out at 12 each. 

India put up a total of 121/5 in 20 overs thanks to a brilliant innings from opener Mithali Raj, who remained unbeaten on 73. Mithali took 65 balls to score those crucial runs which also included seven boundaries and also a six.
