Bigg Boss Tamil fame Malaysia-based independent musician, singer and actor Mugen Rao is making his acting debut with ‘Velan’ directed by Kavin Moorthy K. The commercial entertainer bankrolled by Kalaimagan is all set to hit the screens this month and the latest is that the film has been cleared by the Censor Board with a clean ‘U’ certificate.

The film is billed as a commercial entertainer, which will have elements of romance, sentiment, action and comedy. While Mugen and Meenakshi Govindarajan play college students in the film, it also stars Soori, Prabhu, Thambi Ramaiah and Hareesh Peradi in important roles.

Veteran actor Prabhu plays Mugen’s father and the film also delves into their relationship. Soori essays the role of a Mammootty fan and his character’s name is Mammookka Dineshan. Soori will be seen as Thambi Ramaiah’s brother-in-law in the film; the latter plays a Malayali in the film.
