UGC has uploaded an important notification for Higher Education Institutions on its official website. The notification that includes topics such as COVID-19 appropriate behaviour, can be found on ugc.ac.in. The official notification ad other details can be found here,

University Grant Commission or UGC has released an important notification on the official website. The notification released on December 13, is directed at Higher Education Institutions. The detailed official notification can be found from ugc.ac.in. 

As per the official notification, since the outbreak of the COVID-19 outbreak pandemic, several guidelines have been issued by the University Grant Commission or UGC with respect to the academic calendar, examinations, re-opening of institutions. Further, several Standard Operating Procedure or SOPs were issued with regards to the conduct of examination during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the subsequent lockdowns, With regards to this, the commission released several notifications dated on April 29, 2020, July 6, 2020, July 8, 2020, September 29, 2020, November 5, 2020, and July 16, 2021. 

The notifications issued by the commission can be checked by stakeholders from ugc.ac.in. Further, it says that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has requested as on December 10, 2021, that strict COVID-19 guidelines should be followed by educational institutions. Thus, colleges, universities, and other higher education institutions should be following COVID-19 appropriate behaviour at all times and places.

Thus, education institutions should adhere to strict COVID-19 guidelines such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, using hand sanitizers, and other guidelines. The detailed official notification as issued by UGC can be found here. Thus, given the current circumstances, UGC has requested higher educational institutions to take appropriate decisions with regards to the conduct of physical classes, the opening of the campus. As per the official notice released by UGC, appropriate decisions should be taken by higher education institutions with regards to the conduct of exams in offline or online, or blended mode by following appropriate COVID-19 guidelines. Thus, appropriate COVID-19 guidelines, directories, advisories, protocols as issued by the Central government, State government or any other competent authority should be followed by the education institutions.
