• Schools are reopening after over 20 months of closure due to the pandemic.

• COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed and some schools have asked parents to submit the health status of their children as well.

West Bengal School Reopening is scheduled to begin from today – November 16, 2021 after over a year. As per government orders, schools are ready to welcome back students of classes 9 to 12 from today for offline classes. The resumption has been initiated with strict guidelines and COVID-19 safety protocols in place.  

West Bengal School Reopening is happening in a phased manner. As of now, the attendance has not been made mandatory and the decision to come to schools has been left on students and their parents/guardians.  

The state government and Education Department have drafted SOPs that are to be followed by everyone. The reopening decision has been taken as the state has seen a fall in COVID-19 cases and an increase in vaccination rates. Check below the guidelines in place.  

West Bengal School Reopening: Guidelines to be followed 

1. Schools will be calling back students in batches and everyone will not be allowed to come to campus together.  
2. Some institutes have even asked parents to update the health status of their children. Hence, if someone has not done it till now, it is important they do it before coming to campus.  
3. It is important that all students and staff members follow COVID-19 safety protocols diligently. This includes them wearing masks, using sanitisers and maintaining social distancing.  
4. Sharing of food, stationary, books or any other items and overcrowding are prohibited as they can increase the risk of the spread of infection.  
5. Most schools are even setting up isolation rooms in case anyone is found having symptoms of cold, cough, fever or anything related.  
6. Those who experience any symptoms will not be allowed to enter the campus and thermal screening will be done at the entry. 

West Bengal School Reopening is likely to begin for other classes soon, as per reports. As of now, some schools are planning on holding offline exams so that students can prepare themselves and can even get in touch with schools again.
