  • Realme has confirmed it is bringing a washing machine around Diwali.
  • Realme previously told India Today Tech to expand into more product categories.
  • Realme’s washing machine may come at an aggressive price.

Realme announced the GT 5G flagship phone, GT Master Edition designer phone, and Realme Book Slim laptop in India on Wednesday earlier this week. It was one of the important events for Realme as it marks the company’s foray into this year’s premium market, as well as the PC market. Laptops is one of the few categories that Realme wants to expand into in the coming years. Under its Realme TechLife brand, the company is focusing on products that make for a robust ecosystem, and soon a part of that will be a washing machine.

Madhav Sheth, Realme India and Europe CEO, confirmed that the company will soon launch “washing machines and other white goods” under the Realme TechLife brand. This is going to be a new product category for Realme, which now wants to take on brands such as Samsung and LG. Realme said the washing machines will be coming this Diwali.

The confirmation from Sheth is in line with what he told me earlier this year. Realme wants to create an ecosystem where it wants to enter every product category. Realme has already launched products such as a beard trimmer, a hairdryer, and a robotic vacuum cleaner. While the first products are already available in India, the robotic vacuum cleaner is coming before Diwali, as India Today Tech exclusively reported earlier this year. Now that at least two products from Realme are likely to come around Diwali, the company may be gearing up for a big reveal of its huge AIoT line in India.

The features and specifications of the Realme washing machine are not available at this moment, but an outline of it that Sheth showed at the event hints at a front-load washing machine. Front-load washing machines usually come at a premium price, but considering it is Realme that is working on them, we may see an aggressive price for it. I am assuming Realme may be planning to launch its front load washing machine at the cost of a top load washing machine, which is very affordable.

Realme’s TechLife has already got the Dizo brand, but the company wants to continue its own products with the company’s branding. Right now, it is unclear if the washing machine will bear the Dizo branding, Realme branding, or some other brand’s logo that will work under Realme TechLife. But whatever the case may be, Realme’s washing machine is very likely to support the Realme Link app, through which certain functions can be controlled on a smartphone. The specifics, however, are not known at this point.
